A Moorcroft tubelined earthenware vase decorated in the Bramble pattern, originally designed by Sally Tuffin. The vessel is of baluster form with a bulbous lower body tapering to a long neck and flared trumpet rim. The exterior is decorated with tubelined outlines of trailing blackberries, pinkish-purple blossoms, and large autumn-coloured leaves in tones of ochre, plum, deep forest green, and navy blue against a pale grey-blue ground. The interior of the neck is finished in a dark olive-green glaze. The underside features the stamped marks MOORCROFT and MADE IN ENGLAND in blue ink, an impressed year cypher for 1991 (an H with a central dot), and hand-painted monograms in blue for the tubeliner and painter, including the initials EJ and a code B1.
