A contemporary studio pottery stoneware vessel of squat, globular form with a tapering neck. The exterior features a dual-tone decorative scheme, combining a textured buff-coloured clay body with areas of dark brown glossy glaze. The main body is decorated with three bands of recessed rectangular panels, each containing incised vertical bars. These panels are highlighted with a dark brown glaze that shows mottled oil-spot characteristics, a finish also applied to the neck and the rounded base. The unglazed buff areas exhibit a fine, horizontal sgraffito or combed texture. The vessel bears an impressed potter’s mark near the base, consisting of a single stylized character resembling a lowercase letter e or a capital G.
