This pair of cast brass candlesticks is of the Diamond Princess pattern, a design originally created to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. Each candlestick features a multi-knopped stem with a prominent central faceted diamond-shaped section, terminating in a flared circular nozzle. The stems are supported by stepped square bases with canted corners. The pieces are assembled using a central internal threaded rod visible on the underside. One base is stamped THE DIAMOND PRINCESS and the other is marked ENGLISH with the British Registered Design number Rd 385833. This registration number indicates the specific design for this variation dates to approximately 1902.
