A pair of vintage Japanese glass fishing floats of spherical form, produced in an aqua or light blue-green coloured glass. Each float is encased in original hand-knotted natural fibre rope netting, exhibiting a dark brown weathered patina. One float includes a supplementary thicker rope loop at the top for attachment. The glass displays characteristic manufacturing features including internal air bubbles or seeds and surface irregularities consistent with industrial hand-blown or mould-blown production. One float bears an embossed mark consisting of a single capital letter F on the glass body, a mark frequently attributed to mid-20th century Japanese manufacturing houses.
