A table lamp base of tiered baluster form, constructed from hand-carved hardwood. The piece is decorated in the Kashmiri style, featuring three bulbous sections of the stem profusely carved with scrolling foliate and floral patterns. The circular, stepped base is similarly embellished with a leaf border and further foliate carving. The wood exhibits a rich, dark brown polished finish. The lamp has been rewired with a modern white flexible electrical cable and is fitted with a standard UK three-pin plug. It is topped with a modern chrome-finish B22 bayonet lamp holder.
