A folio-sized art book titled Rembrandt Etchings, featuring high-quality reproductions of original intaglio works by Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn held in the collection of The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow. The volume was published by Aurora Art Publishers, Leningrad. The book is housed in its original brown cardboard slipcase, which features a central square logo with a stylized cursive R flanked by the text REMBRANDT and ETCHINGS. The spine is lettered in white with THE PUSHKIN MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS MOSCOW, REMBRANDT · ETCHINGS, and AURORA ART PUBLISHERS LENINGRAD. The interior contains numerous plates reproduced on heavy, textured light-grey paper, depicting various subjects including landscapes, portraits, and biblical scenes. Visible plates include The Artist’s Mother (1628), Six’s Bridge (1645), Jan Six (1647), Medea; or, the Marriage of Jason and Creusa (1648), Beggars Receiving Alms at the Door (1648), Faust (c. 1652), and The Entombment: a Night Piece (c. 1654). Each plate includes a printed title and catalogue reference number. The reproductions represent a variety of original techniques including etching with fluid, acid-bitten lines and drypoint with characteristic soft, burred lines.
