A hand-knotted wool rug featuring a classic medallion composition. The design consists of a large, polylobed central medallion rendered in shades of cocoa brown, tan, and charcoal grey, set upon a cream-coloured field. The field includes four corner spandrels with a dark brown ground and a diagonal lattice pattern accented by stylized flowers. The main border shows a repeating four-petaled floral motif in red, sage green, and cream on a light brown ground, further framed by geometric and zig-zag guard borders. The rug is constructed with a wool pile on a cotton foundation and retains short, knotted fringes at both ends. An accompanying handwritten note lists the dimensions.
