A late 19th to early 20th-century silver-plated retractable razor strop casing, manufactured by the Pairpoint Manufacturing Company of New Bedford, Massachusetts. The cylindrical body is decorated in the Victorian repousse style with scrolling foliage, floral blossoms, and stippled backgrounds. The end caps feature a decorative four-quadrant design composed of acanthus leaves and shell-like motifs, with one end cap bearing a central, highly stylised intertwined script monogram. The interior houses a brown leather strop that extends through a slot in the side of the cylinder. The end of the strop is fitted with a matching ornate silver-plated handle featuring similar scrollwork and a circular finger loop. Stamped to the side of the handle is the manufacturer mark PAIRPOINT MFG. CO. 2855.
