A pyramidal mechanical metronome featuring a mahogany-stained wooden case with a polished finish. The front of the case is fitted with an oval metal plaque embossed with a central gear logo containing a letter S over a sunburst design. The plaque is inscribed METRONOME, SYSTEM MAELZEL, and MADE IN GERMANY. The unit includes a removable front panel secured by a metal hook-and-eye fastener at the apex. A winding key and a beat selector pull-knob are positioned on the right side. The metronome is supported by three small circular feet. Internal components are constructed from brass and steel.
