Monday 6th July - Antiques, Jewellery, Militaria, Coins, Vinyl, Toys, Ceramics, Collectables
The lot comprises two traditionally constructed baskets of different forms made from unpeeled brown willow. The first basket is of oval form with a stout, arched handle and a thick, braided rim, featuring a body woven using a traditional randing technique. The second basket is rectangular with rounded corners, similarly styled with an arched handle and a heavy braided rim. Both baskets are crafted from unpeeled osier, providing a natural finish typical of traditional basketry used for gardening, gathering, or household tasks. This style is characteristic of traditional workshops in the United Kingdom, particularly those in historical willow-growing regions such as the Somerset Levels. No maker marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the interior or exterior of either basket.
