A varied assortment of ten glazed earthenware jugs and mugs, comprising full-standing and seated Toby jugs alongside smaller character head jugs. The collection includes a large seated figure in a red coat and green waistcoat, possibly depicting Punch or Old King Cole. Also present is a standing figure of a Night Watchman in a green coat holding a cup, and a seated figure in a red coat and green breeches in the style of Toby Philpot. Character head jugs feature subjects including Long John Silver with a parrot-form handle, William Shakespeare, and a judge or barrister in a judicial wig. Smaller pieces include a seated figure in a red coat holding a scroll, a character mug of a gentleman with a pipe, and two additional small Toby figures in traditional eighteenth-century attire. These items are produced in the tradition of Staffordshire potteries. No maker marks are visible to the exterior.
