A cast metal figure of a male lion, modelled in a couchant position with the head turned slightly to the left. The piece is rendered in the animalier style, featuring a detailed, textured mane and a long tail curled alongside the hindquarters. It is finished with a dark brown to black patina, which reveals lighter metallic undertones in areas of surface wear. The underside shows a prominent casting seam and two circular mounting holes, suggesting the piece was once attached to a base or plinth. No maker’s marks, signatures, or foundry stamps were found upon inspection.
