This vintage Bb cornet is a Solbron Class A model manufactured by Boosey and Co of London, England. The instrument is constructed from silver-plated brass and features decorative floral and foliate engraving on the bell. The bell engraving includes the Solbron registered trade name, Class A designation, the maker mark of a cornet over a banner, and the inscription Boosey and Co Makers London 118396 British Throughout. The central valve casing is stamped with a trumpet icon above the Boosey name and the serial number 91376, while the individual valve casings are numbered 103, 104, and 105. The cornet is accompanied by a silver-plated mouthpiece, a music lyre, and its original black fitted hard-shell case. Also included are two vintage instruction booklets: The Universal Band Primer published by Boosey and Hawkes Ltd and The Champion Tutors No. 1 Learning to Play by George Thompson and Kenneth Cook.
