A pair of sterling silver candlesticks designed in the George II revival style. Each piece features an octagonal stepped base, weighted for stability, supporting a knopped octagonal stem, an octagonal sconce, and a fixed nozzle. The bases are filled with a dark weighting material.
The hallmarks are located on the side of the base and comprise:
Maker Mark: HE over LD in a shaped shield for Hawksworth, Eyre and Co. Ltd.
Assay Office Mark: Crown for Sheffield.
Standard Mark: Lion passant for sterling silver.
Date Letter: Lowercase serifed a in a shaped shield for 1918.
Gross weight: 503 grams.
