A pair of matching Anglo-Indian style furniture items crafted from solid hardwood, likely teak or sheesham. The group comprises a circular side table and a rectangular trinket chest, both featuring extensive hand-carved decoration.
The side table is designed with a circular top featuring deep relief carving, including a central floral medallion and a broad foliate scrollwork border. The base consists of four square-section legs, each decorated with vertical rows of chip-carved geometric diamond motifs. These legs are joined at the base by an X-frame stretcher.
The matching rectangular trinket chest is decorated with chip-carved geometric star patterns on the lid and all sides, with the lid further accented by two carved floral motifs. The chest is heavily embellished with brass hardware, including dome-head studs along the edges, pierced foliate corner plates, a decorative central hasp, and drop-loop carrying handles at the sides. The interior is accessed via simple metal hinges and contains a removable two-compartment lift-out wooden tray.
