Buyer's Premium:

A Victorian manual hand-crank sewing machine featuring a cast iron fiddle-shaped base supported by four integral scroll feet. The machine is designed with a swan-neck or serpentine arm, finished in black japanning and embellished with gilt foliate and vine-motif decals. It is operated by a large spoked flywheel with an internal geared drive mechanism, fitted with a white ceramic handle. The machine includes a vertical needle bar and a rectangular needle plate. No maker marks, brand names, or serial numbers are visible, as the bright metal faceplate is obscured by heavy surface corrosion. The design and decorative style are characteristic of the Swan Neck models produced by Jones and Company in the late 19th century.
