A collection of British silver and base metal coinage spanning the reigns of George IV, Victoria, Edward VII, George V, and George VI. The lot includes denominations of half crowns, shillings, sixpences, and threepences. Obverses feature monarchical portraits with Latin titles including GEORGIUS IV DEI GRATIA, GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX, and GEORGIVS VI D: G: BRITT: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP. Reverse types include the crowned shield of the half crown, the lion standing on a crown for the shilling and early George IV issues, and various wreaths of oak and thistle. Confirmed dates visible include 1826, 1916, 1918, 1923, 1928, 1929, 1933, 1935, 1936, 1940, 1941, 1943, and 1945. The metals represented include 0.925 fineness sterling silver for issues prior to 1920 and 0.500 fineness silver for issues between 1920 and 1946.
