A collection of British commemorative, military, and personal items. The group includes a 1951 United Kingdom Festival of Britain Five Shillings piece, also known as a crown, struck in cupro-nickel to commemorate the centenary of the Great Exhibition. The coin features the obverse portrait of King George VI and is housed in its original maroon presentation box with the accompanying descriptive card. The lot features a World War I Victory Medal with edge-impressed naming for 36764 PTE A F SWINDLEHURST BORD. R., attributing the award to a Private in the Border Regiment. Also included is a bronze 1911 coronation medal for King George V and Queen Mary, the reverse detailing Mayor N. Miller and Town Clerk Alfred Howarth of Preston. Further items consist of a brass RM Royal Marines shoulder title, a circular brass badge for the R.S.S.G.A. with a phoenix design, and an enamelled shield-shaped medal marked for Thomas Fattorini Ltd, Birmingham. Completing the lot are two pairs of chain-link cufflinks, with one pair marked Shell on Silver.
