A mid-20th-century British sunburst wall clock manufactured by Smiths English Clocks Ltd of Cricklewood, London. The clock features a gilt-finished sunburst-form case, likely constructed from carved or moulded wood. The dial comprises a two-tone circular face with a gold-tone centre and a silvered chapter ring displaying black Arabic numerals. It is fitted with black hour and minute hands and includes a small circular power-interruption indicator aperture located below the twelve o’clock position. The dial is marked SMITH and MADE IN ENGLAND. The reverse reveals a brown housing for the mains-powered synchronous electric movement, embossed with the SEC logo, SMITH’S ENGLISH CLOCKS LTD, CRICKLEWOOD LONDON, and SYNCHRONOUS ELECTRIC CLOCKS LTD. It is marked for 200/250V, 50Hz operation and includes the MADE IN ENGLAND origin mark.
