This original watercolour painting with gouache highlights on paper depicts a tranquil landscape featuring a calm body of water, possibly a flooded quarry or lake, surrounded by sandy banks and two prominent pine trees. The foreground and middle distance are detailed with clusters of pink and purple flowering heather. The work is signed A. M. Foweraker in the lower right corner. The painting is presented in a wide, tiered wooden frame with a gilded inner slip. The reverse bears a printed gallery label for Wilfrid Coates, Fine Art Dealer, Picture Frame Maker and Gilder, 25 Fawcett Street, Sunderland.
