A late 19th-century watercolour on paper depicting a rural landscape featuring a derelict stone windmill tower. The central tower is shown without sails, surrounded by farm outbuildings with red-tiled roofs. The composition includes mature trees and a five-bar timber field gate in the lower right foreground. To the left, haystacks are positioned behind a wooden fence. The artist has employed a traditional representational style with fine detail in the rendering of the stonework and foliage. The work is monogrammed HIF and dated 96 in the lower right corner. The painting is presented in a gilt-wood frame with a beaded inner slip and a wide paper mount.
