A late 19th-century mantel clock in the Neoclassical temple or portico style. The case is constructed from black slate and features a triangular pediment adorned with a cast metal relief of a central mask and scrollwork. The structure is supported by four fluted columns with gilt-finished capitals and bases. The dial is composed of a cream-coloured outer chapter ring with black Roman numerals and a textured gilt-metal centre. It features ornate black steel hands and two winding apertures. The reverse of the clock has a circular ventilated metal grill. The mechanical two-train movement is designed for time and strike functions, likely striking on a bell or gong.
