A collection of three antique pharmaceutical suppository moulds, characteristic of British druggist equipment from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. The set comprises two double-row moulds, each designed to cast 12 suppositories, and one single-row mould for 6 suppositories. All three are constructed from precision-machined cast brass, with the two larger examples retaining traces of original silver-coloured plating. The moulds function via a horizontal split-block mechanism secured by a central threaded clamping screw with distinctive thumb-turn knobs. One 12-hole mould is stamped with the numeral 7 vertically across its three sections and features a winged screw. The second 12-hole mould is centrally stamped 10 GR, signifying a ten-grain capacity, and is fitted with a large knurled circular knob. The 6-hole mould features a smaller knurled knob and bears no legible markings. These instruments were typically used by chemists to cast medicinal forms from a base such as cocoa butter.
