Buyer's Premium:

An antique English free-blown apothecary or chemist’s jar, crafted from deep amethyst glass that appears black in ambient light. The cylindrical vessel features a high-gloss finish and is fitted with a removable hammered metal cover, which also functions as a measuring cup. The cover is embellished with a chased Greek key (meander) border and displays a dark, naturally aged patina. A rectangular gold-toned paper label with a thin red border is affixed to the body, featuring the black printed text P: CUBEBAE, the pharmaceutical Latin abbreviation for Pulvis Cubebae (powdered cubeb berries). The glass rim beneath the cover is irregular, typical of free-blown glass of the late 19th or early 20th century.
