A set of six antique emerald green glass apothecary or chemist storage bottles, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The bottles are of cylindrical form with vertical ribbing to the body, a traditional design characteristic used in pharmacies to indicate contents intended for external application. Each bottle is constructed with a ground-glass neck and is fitted with a matching emerald green glass ball stopper. The vessels are adorned with shield-shaped glass-fronted labels, featuring black text on coloured backgrounds with gold-leaf borders. The labels are transcribed as follows: LIN: CAMPHOR (Camphor Liniment), ACID: SULPH:PUR (Pure Sulphuric Acid), LIN: SAPONIS (Soap Liniment), LIN: CAMPH: CO (Compound Camphor Liniment), LIN: CAMPH: (Camphor Liniment), and LIN:CAMPH: c̄ TEREB: (Camphor Liniment with Turpentine). Five of the labels feature red backgrounds, while the label for pure sulphuric acid has a cream-coloured background.
