Buyer's Premium:

An early 20th-century electromagnetic skeleton mantel clock produced by the Eureka Clock Co. Ltd of London. The movement is designed with a prominent exposed electromagnetic balance wheel under the Timothy Bernard Powers patent, supported by four brass pillars. The backplate is fitted with a star-shaped regulator wheel over a scale marked SLOW and FAST. The clock features a 4.5 inch white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and a rail-track minute ring, signed EUREKA CLOCK Co. Ltd LONDON. The hands are black-finished steel in the Breguet style. The movement is fixed to a rectangular wooden plinth base, possibly oak or mahogany, which serves as the battery box. The top surface of the base has a recessed groove suggesting the original presence of a glass dome. The base rests on four block feet. Marks on the movement plate include EUREKA CLOCK Co. Ltd LONDON, PAT. No 14614-1906, No 287, and MADE IN ENGLAND.
Dial diameter: 4.5 inches (approximate).
