This is a non-firing based on French Model 1806 cavalry flintlock pistol, a design frequently associated with the Napoleonic Wars and the Lewis and Clark expedition. The piece is constructed with a full-length wooden stock and a smoothbore cast metal barrel, which is secured by a wide brass barrel band. The lock mechanism is made of cast metal, with the lock plate prominently engraved with the name BRANDER. The furniture is composed of brass elements, including the trigger guard, side plate, and a rounded butt cap. A metal ramrod is held within its channel beneath the barrel. The woodwork displays various marks and indentations intended to simulate a historical aesthetic, while the metal components feature a factory-applied finish that mimics aged iron with simulated surface pitting.
