An antique medical or veterinary aspirator set manufactured by Lepine of Lyon, France. The instruments are constructed from nickel-plated brass and are housed in an original fitted rectangular hardwood case, possibly walnut or mahogany. The set includes a large aspiration pump with a T-shaped handle, a three-way stopcock valve with a cork-covered connector, and a removable wooden tray containing five trocars and cannulas of varying dimensions. The lower compartment contains additional accessories, including a fabric-braided hose and coiled metal cleaning wires. The interior of the lid features gold-blocked lettering reading LEPINE à LYON. A similar mark is stamped onto one of the wing-nut valves of the stopcock. The interior lid also bears a blue ink-stamped owner’s address for Stan Swaddle, 37 Holywell Avenue, Whitley Bay, Northumberland, NE26 3AD.
