This group of antique and vintage scientific and medical instruments features a Michell Workshop Viscometer set. Contained in a fitted mahogany case with brass hinges, the set includes a metal cup-and-ball assembly, a plunger handle with a brown bulbous grip, and a glass thermometer. It is accompanied by the original printed instruction sheet referencing British Patent 117,234, which describes its function for measuring the viscosity of liquids such as lubricating oils.
The collection also includes a medical syringe kit housed in a black textured case with a two-tone red and purple velvet-lined interior. The set comprises a glass-barreled syringe with chrome or nickel-plated metal fittings and two accompanying hypodermic needles.
There is an assortment of thin metal diagnostic probes and laboratory tools contained in a wooden box with a green-painted exterior. These instruments include various surgical or laboratory probes with looped ends and bulbous tips, some of which remain in their original paper protective sleeves.
The items are accompanied by a large, rectangular mahogany instrument case featuring a polished finish and a brass keyhole escutcheon.
