Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises three mid-20th-century medical and diagnostic instruments of British manufacture. The primary item is a diagnostic wide-angle ophthalmoscope produced by C. Davis Keeler of 47 Wigmore Street, London. The instrument is constructed with a cream-coloured plastic handle, likely Bakelite, and features chrome-plated metal fittings. The head includes a black rotating lens disc with numerical scales in red and white and is marked Wide Angle and Keeler London W.1. It is housed in its original black textured-leatherette case with a blue velvet and satin-lined interior, which bears the maker’s gold-printed mark and address. The second item is a Birmingham Nasal Douche, consisting of a clear blown glass irrigator. It is contained within its original pale-blue cardboard box, which features a schematic illustration and detailed directions for use accompanied by a period graphic. The third item is a graduated medicine measuring glass. The clear glass measure is graduated for tea spoons and is protected by a green inner sleeve and a black textured-leatherette cylindrical outer case. The base of the case is stamped in gold with Medicine Glass surrounding a central monogram logo.
