A turned hardwood mortar and matching pestle set. The mortar is constructed with a flared rim and a pedestal foot, featuring a body decorated with multiple bands of incised scalloped and geometric patterns. The pestle is comprised of a matching turned wood handle fitted to a matte-finish greyish grinding head of composite or ceramic material. The grinding head is stamped with a capital letter D above the inscription MADE IN ENGLAND.
