This contemporary bronze sculpture by British artist Mark Richard Hall is titled Open Ending and represents a botanical study of a horse chestnut, or conker, emerging from its prickly husk. The work features a multi-tonal patina that provides a stark contrast between the textured, greenish-brown verdigris finish of the exterior spiked casing and the dark, polished mahogany-brown finish of the internal nut. The sculpture is designed to rest on three integral spikes and features a long, elegantly curved stem. This piece is accompanied by its original Note of Authenticity from Naughty Boy Studio, which confirms the work was created by Mark Richard Hall and identifies it as number 8 from a limited edition of 150.
