A stylised glazed earthenware figurine of the character Larry the Lamb, produced by Hughes, Marriott & Gibson Ltd (H. M. & G. Ltd) of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. The figure features an elongated neck and is finished in a cream glaze with hand-painted details, including large black eyes with white highlights, an orange mouth, and black hooves. The integral oval base is decorated with an applied three-dimensional orange flower and green leaf, surrounded by hand-painted green grass tufts and red dots. The underside is marked with a black printed stamp reading MADE IN ENGLAND, H. M. & G. LTD., REGISTERED No. 791377, and “LARRY THE LAMB”. There is also a hand-painted green character resembling the letter V. The registered design number 791377 dates the model to approximately 1934. The piece represents the character Larry the Lamb from the Toytown stories created by S.G. Hulme Beaman.
