An antique Swiss cast bronze cattle bell of traditional flared form, likely intended for a sheep or goat. The bell is constructed from a heavy copper alloy and features a dark, naturally aged patina with areas of green verdigris. It retains its original internal iron clapper, which terminates in a bulbous striking head. The bell is mounted to a multi-layered harness of thick dark brown leather, secured with metal hardware. This example is characteristic of European agricultural folk artifacts from the early 20th century. There are no visible maker’s marks or inscriptions on the metal or leather components.
