This set comprises a helmet-shaped coal scuttle and matching scissor-action tongs. The scuttle body is constructed from hand-hammered copper with a martelé finish and visible riveted seams. It features a fixed cast brass handle attached via decorative lion-mask mounts. The piece is supported by three cast brass lion-paw tripod feet. The matching cast brass tongs are joined by a central pivot and terminate in ribbed circular gripping ends.
