A mid-20th-century Brazilian butterfly wing specimen tray. The rectangular display features a symmetrical, kaleidoscopic arrangement of multiple butterfly wings mounted under a glass panel. The specimens include iridescent blue wings, characteristic of the Morpho genus, and cream-to-tan coloured wings from unidentified species, organised in overlapping circular and geometric patterns. The tray is constructed with an inlaid frame featuring concentric bands of contrasting light and dark wood. It incorporates two integral, oval-shaped handles carved directly into the wooden ends. No visible maker marks, signatures, or labels are present on the item.
