A mid-20th-century serving tray featuring a decorative panel of butterfly wing marquetry. The central design is composed of iridescent blue wings from the Morpho genus, meticulously arranged in overlapping circular patterns to create a kaleidoscope effect. A single complete butterfly specimen is positioned at the centre of the arrangement. The wing collage is protected under glass and housed within a rectangular hardwood frame. The wood is decorated with a triple-line inlaid border of light-coloured wood stringing. The tray features integrated rounded handles at each end. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible.
