A pair of English rustic art pottery jugs of graduated sizes, produced under the Hillstonia brand by the Moira Pottery Co. Ltd. of Leicestershire. Each stoneware jug features a relief-moulded body designed to resemble the texture of bark or vertical wooden staves, secured by horizontal bands with dark-pigmented circular rivet accents. The handles are modelled in a gnarled branch-like form, and each piece is finished in a mottled tan and brown matte glaze. The underside of both jugs bears the mark Hillstonia in a stylized black script. The base of the larger jug also features handwritten notations in dark ink: + 3/22 and 7/1.
