A pair of candle snuffers of traditional scissor form. The tool features a rectangular wick-collecting box mounted to one blade, finished with a gadrooned top edge. The handles are decorated with pierced scrollwork and diamond-shaped cutouts, meeting at a pivot point embellished with a circular embossed foliate boss. The instrument stands on three spherical ball feet, two located on the handles and one at the pointed tip. The pointed tip serves as a pick for adjusting the wick before trimming.
