A pair of Huet Paris enamel opera glasses displays barrels decorated with polychrome portraits of a Renaissance-style man and woman set within scrolled cartouches on a cream-yellow ground with foliate motifs. The eyepieces are made of mother-of-pearl and are incised with the marks H U E T and P A R I S. These are accompanied by a black leather-covered hard case with a velvet-lined interior. A cylindrical metal service whistle is stamped J. HUDSON and CO BIRMINGHAM 1943 above a Broad Arrow ordnance mark. The lot also includes an assortment of cigarette and trade cards. Visible series include Wills’s Cigarettes The Wonders of the World, Player’s Cigarettes Nineveh, various bird and football series, and religious trade cards. An album contains 1950s aircraft cards including the Vulcan, Victor, and Javelin jets. The loose cards are housed in a red Pixie brand vanity case marked Personal Luggage British Made.
