This lot comprises two decorative ceramic vessels. The first is an Italian hand-painted earthenware pitcher of bulbous, ovoid form with a pinched pouring spout and a single loop handle. The decoration consists of polychrome enamels over an opaque white glaze, featuring large stylised floral blooms and scrolling acanthus-style foliage in shades of pink, blue, yellow, and green. The base is hand-inscribed in brown pigment with the numbers 861 and the word ITALY. The second vessel is a German salt-glazed stoneware jug produced by Simon Peter Gerz. This cylindrical jug features a relief-moulded central frieze depicting figures in 16th-century style costume against a deep cobalt blue ground. The body is further embellished with bands of geometric lattice moulding and foliate vine scrolls. The unglazed base shows an impressed mark of a triangle above the numbers 315, alongside two horizontal parallel lines and the characters 3 S.
