A framed watercolour depicting a detailed coastal landscape of St Michael’s Mount, Cornwall, featuring a village, a harbor containing several boats, and foreground figures, including one leading a donkey cart laden with seaweed. The artwork is rendered in a traditional realist style. The verso bears two handwritten labels; one identifies the subject as “St Michael’s Mt Cornwall” and tentatively attributes the work to “Edward? Duncan, Northumberland artist, ” with an estimated “Arty. Value £100-150” from 2010. A second handwritten notation states the item was “Bought Gosforth Park Antiques Fair Feb. 1981 Paid? Check approx £50. Watercolour Marazion – St Michaels Mt by ‘E Duncan’ check.” The painting is presented under glass with a wide, cream-colored mount within a multi-profiled, silvered and possibly gilded wood frame.
