A trio of items comprising an English Real Stone China lidded tureen or sauce boat and an accompanying silver-toned metal serving ladle. The ceramic vessel is constructed from ironstone (stone china) and decorated in a polychrome Imari palette or chinoiserie style, featuring dense hand-painted floral sprays and detailed black transfer-printed borders. The body of the tureen rests on a molded, shaped foot. The fitted lid features a central rectangular cartouche depicting figures in a landscape scene, surmounted by a molded loop finial accented in dark blue and gilt. The base of the tureen bears a black transfer printed mark depicting a crown above a banner reading “REAL STONE CHINA.” Below this mark is the red handwritten pattern number “190.” The accompanying ladle features a fluted bowl and a decorated handle.
