An advertising figurine depicting Abby Slick, the female counterpart to the Esso oil drop mascot. The figure is modelled in a waving pose with one hand resting on her hip. The character features a yellow drop-shaped head adorned with a red bow, and a white painted body. The figure is mounted to a circular integral base. The chest displays the Esso logo in red lettering within a blue oval. The upper surface of the base is inscribed with the Esso logo, with the name Abby to the left and Slick to the right in blue lettering. The underside of the base features raised cast lettering in two lines reading Cannon Ind Ltd and Coseley. Two flat-head screws are visible on the underside, securing the figure to the base. Cannon Industries Ltd was a manufacturer based in Coseley, Staffordshire, primarily known for domestic gas appliances. This item is a modern decorative piece produced in the style of mid-20th-century petroliana advertising mascots.
