A collection of silver threepence coins from Great Britain, housed in a blue Whitman No. 9686 coin folder titled Great Britain Threepence Silver Collection 1902 to 1945. This set spans the reigns of King Edward VII, King George V, and King George VI. The coins date from 1902 to 1944, including both .925 fine silver issues minted prior to 1920 and .500 fine silver issues minted thereafter. Obverses feature monarch portraits by designers G.W. de Saulles (bearing initials De S.), Bertram Mackennal (bearing initials BM), and Hugh Paget (bearing initials HP). Reverses display either a crowned numeral 3 or a shield of St. George on a Tudor rose. The folder includes mintage figures and historical notes, including the status of the 1945 issue. The slot for 1927 is vacant. The folder was produced by the Whitman Hobby Division of Western Publishing Company, Inc., Racine, Wisconsin, with a 1961 copyright.
