Coins dated 1937 to 1946 are struck in 0.500 fine silver, while the issues from 1947 to 1952 are struck in cupro-nickel. The Elizabeth II issues (1953-1967) are struck in cupro-nickel and feature the laureated bust obverse designed by Mary Gillick. The George VI reverses display a crowned monogram, with the legend omitting IND. IMP. from 1949 onwards following Indian independence. The Elizabeth II reverses feature a central floral motif incorporating a rose, thistle, shamrock, and leek. The folder was manufactured by the Whitman Hobby Division of Western Publishing Company, Inc., Racine, Wisconsin, with a copyright date of 1961.
