A two-piece fish serving set consisting of a serving knife and a matching fork, presented in a fitted wood-framed case. The set features silver-plated blades and tines, decorated with intricate engraved floral and foliate patterns. The knife blade is of a scimitar form and includes a decorative pierced section of scrollwork, while the fork features a corresponding central cut-out motif. Both pieces are fitted with smooth, tapered off-white handles. The collars are made of sterling silver and bear the hallmarks for Sheffield, 1907, including the crown, lion passant, and the date letter p, alongside the maker’s mark HG. The neck of the fork and the blade of the knife are stamped with a series of pseudo-hallmarks including A, C, S, &, and S. The original presentation case features a black leatherette exterior and a blue ruched satin and velvet-lined interior. The interior lid is gold-stamped with the retailer C.B.
