A pair of clear art glass candle holders, attributed to the Swedish manufacturer Kosta Boda as part of the Polar series designed by Göran Wärff circa 1974. Each piece is characterised by a heavily textured, craggy base resembling melting ice, which rises into numerous vertical pillars of varying heights with smooth, rounded tops. This design is highly representative of mid-century Scandinavian modernism, specifically intended to catch and refract light through the irregular glass surfaces. The items are made from heavy, clear glass and are designed to hold votive or tealight candles. No manufacturer marks or signatures are visible on either piece.
