A large framed lithographic advertising showcard for Huntley and Palmers biscuits, dating from the early 20th century. The central image features a camera portrait of King George V by E. O. Hoppe, depicting the monarch seated at a roll-top desk engaged in writing. The background includes a fireplace mantel adorned with a statuette of Saint George and the Dragon alongside other decorative objects. The print is titled Huntley and Palmers across the top in red lettering with a black outline, and Empire Assorted Biscuits Reading and London across the bottom. The portrait is flanked by two Royal Warrants, each featuring the Royal coat of arms and the text By Appointment. Small text in the lower left corner reads Printed in England, and a credit in the lower right corner identifies the image as a Camera Portrait by E. O. Hoppe. The item is housed in its original dark-stained moulded wooden frame, which features a gilt-lettered inscription on the bottom rail reading Huntley and Palmers, Reading.
