An Edwardian sterling silver teapot produced by the firm Walker and Hall. The vessel features a pedestal foot and a bulbous body decorated with repoussé vertical fluting to the lower section. It is fitted with an ebonised loop handle featuring a scrolled thumb rest and a hinged lid topped with a matching ebonised urn-form finial set on a fluted silver base. One side of the body is engraved with a cursive monogram S. The upper shoulder is struck with a full set of British hallmarks: the Crown for the Sheffield assay office, the Lion Passant for sterling silver standard, the date letter l for the year 1903, and the maker mark W and H within a pennant-shaped surround for Walker and Hall (John Edward Bingham).
